Quantum Leaps 2024

Quantum Leaps is an event to increase visibility of women in STEM industries across the Kootenay region, helping youth make informed decisions about their post-secondary pursuits. Quantum Leaps is an inclusive initiative welcoming attendees of all genders. This enables our diverse community to be inspired by the extraordinary contributions of women in the Kootenays. Our panel of presenters comprises women holding diverse roles within STEM industries, amplifying the visibility of women’s achievements.

This is a two to three hour free event featuring an all-female speaker panel, with HR booths hosted by our sponsors and affiliated businesses aligned with the year’s theme of Inspiring Inclusion. Registrants will have the opportunity to speak directly with our QL Mentors and access their wealth of lived knowledge .

• Opportunity to engage with STEM professionals, ask questions during the panel Q&A session, and connect directly with speakers after the event
• Snacks and beverages will be provided to create a relaxed atmosphere, break down barriers, and foster communication between youth and mentors
• Equity Fund will support travel to QL for those with barriers from transportation costs – please reach out to youth@kast.com for details; confidentiality will be maintained for all related conversations
