Fundraising isn’t easy. Receive professional support to become investment-ready!

The Investment Readiness Training program will benefit tech startups who are ready to or already are, raising funds from investors. You will learn the fundamentals of seeking investment capital from experienced entrepreneurs.

Through 9 weeks of interactive learning with experts, guest speakers, and other entrepreneurs, this program will provide the tools, frameworks, and best practices to help entrepreneurs gain confidence to seek strategic impact funding.

Program Structure

The Format: There will be nine 2 hour meetings held over 9 weeks, where tech entrepreneurs and founders will meet with industry experts.

Location: Companies can attend the meeting virtually online, with the possibility of in-person attendance at the Nelson Innovation Centre.

Spring helps ecosystems & entrepreneurs change the world through innovation. For entrepreneurs from “idea on a napkin” to a successful Seed round of investment, we provide the tools, training, resources, network, and support to validate their idea, launch their business, get traction, raise funds and change the world. Spring has reached more than 50 communities on 5 continents. Spring supports investors and entrepreneurs through a series of programs that serve them at every stage of their journey.

At Volition, we build capacity, connectivity, and knowledge within global startup ecosystems through co-creating and delivering value alongside trusted partners.

We believe that startup ecosystems are made stronger and more sustainable when ecosystem actors find meaningful and creative ways to collaborate. With this in mind, we work closely with trusted ecosystem partners from across Canada, the U.S. and Europe, to deliver skills-based training, coaching, and curated events to startups.

The program will draw on Volition’s pool of in-house Startup Coaches to deliver expert content as a first resource for subject matter expertise.

This Investment Readiness Training is for Kootenay region tech entrepreneurs and startups who require or will soon need funding as they scale their operations. This program will help founders work through an often overwhelming and daunting process to secure financing.

While programming will be open to all entrepreneurs in the province, priority will be given to Indigenous, Black, and other racialized entrepreneurs, and startups in rural and remote areas. As well, fifty percent of funding has been dedicated to support and advance entrepreneurs who identify within the intersectional spectrum of womanhood.

In 2022 the Kootenay Youth Entrepreneurship (KYE) program was proposed as a collaborative, multifaceted program that aimed at introducing entrepreneurial skills to youth aged 16-30 across the Kootenay Development Region.
