Dr. Paul Tiege is the Manager of Applied Research and Innovation at the College of the Rockies. Dr. Tiege has over 20 years of pure and applied research experience in agriculture, chemistry and the life sciences, including project management and business development. He led an agriculture field crops research program that included primary and service agronomy research, insecticide and fungicide trials, fertilizer and nutrient formulation projects and variety trials, as well as bio-based chemical discovery and synthesis.

Other research work includes typical organic synthesis and analytical chemistry, and development of an intravascular medical device for solid tumours that has now received full Health Canada and FDA approval for sale.

Developing and cultivating collaborative and strategic partnerships with companies and other researchers is an underlying theme of Dr. Tiege’s research program.
