MIDAS Lab
MIDAS Lab has grown up and gone off to college!
We are thrilled to announce that KAST’s project management of MIDAS Lab changed over to Selkirk College on April 1, 2020. Selkirk College, a key partner at MIDAS Lab from the very beginning, will be taking over daily operations as they transition the facility into the Selkirk Technology Access Centre (STAC).
STAC will focus on offering services in advanced manufacturing, advanced materials and advanced computing which is designed to build the competitiveness of companies in the Kootenay region. It’s exciting news for our local research community and key industry sectors as the lab grows and extends its services and impact in the Kootenays.
KAST will remain a key partner in the facility offering business supports to companies, startups and entrepreneurs.
What does this mean for you as a past or present MIDAS client, member or supporter?
Please note that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, STAC is closed to the public for the foreseeable future. Current MIDAS memberships will be put on hold and re-activated and honoured by Selkirk College when the STAC facility is able resume operations.
Courses and training classes on equipment will now be offered through Selkirk College’s Community Education & Workplace Training Program. Stay tuned for upcoming course dates and offerings!
Selkirk College will notify members and the public moving forward as decisions are finalized regarding plans for future member structure and lab access.
