Meet the Entrepreneurs!

Dusty Geyer
After working for several years in the manufacturing industry, Dusty Geyer wanted to create and build something that represents and encompasses his passions. He wanted to develop and run a business that could improve the quality of life for others.
Dusty Geyer is now watching his goal become a reality with his new electronic retrieve fishing reel prototype, designed to assist with providing fishing opportunities for people with shoulder, arm or hand disabilities. He hopes to increase accessibility to recreational fishing in British Columbia.
What makes his reel so special? The one-handed operation of the reel allows everyone to enjoy fishing, despite physical limitations. The hybrid design and functionality allow the angler to play with the fish like any other angler and then, when the timing is right - an electric motor and control system assist the angler to land the fish.

Wesley Fakrogha
Being an international student in the UK, China, and Canada, Wesley encountered difficulties finding the information he required as a student from jobs and accommodations to events and connections with other people while studying. He also had a negative experience in the UK after falling for an accommodation spam. But he turned this experience into inspiration for a new business. He created Stuuli, a safe and valuable information hub for students studying abroad.
Stuuli focuses on providing verified listings that benefit students, building a safe community, and adding value through the resources provided to support students studying abroad. Students can simply choose their college/universities and discover verified listings advertised in their location.
Wesley is an Intern Research Assistant at Applied Research and Innovation at Selkirk College. He’s also completing the Post-Graduate Business Management Diploma at Selkirk College, having graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science at Birmingham City University, United Kingdom, in 2017.
