Since 1998, KAST has led our region’s economic development through technology and innovation. We are the only non-profit tech association serving the entire Kootenay region.
Learn, support, and engage with technology and innovative thinking in your community.Â
Career training, upskilling, and networking with a focus on technology and innovation.Â
Learn how to develop or commercialize new or improved technology-driven products, services or processes.
Build skills, discover passions through interactive play and learn about fields in science, tech innovation and entrepreneurship.Â
We are offering the option to 3D design your contraption. Using TinkerCad software, or other media for younger folks, our Youth Facilitators will lead local groups through the design process! TinkerCad is a free, easy to use 3D design software available online. Beginners can start creating in 3D with simple drag and drop models. Others may wish to design on paper, or use physical modelling materials, which will also be encouraged.
KAST’s Youth Tech Facilitator Noah has created some instructional videos to help get you started, if you're wanting to use TinkerCAD, available at KAST.com/KCC. The TinkerCad website has additional instructional materials.
3D Design Workshops will take approximately 1.5 - 2 hours. Innovators can save their designs online (or paper), and keep working on them later.
