Arlo Bryn-Thorn

Program Manager

A resourceful and creative professional, Arlo brings diverse skills to the dynamic coordination of programs and events with the Kootenay Association for Science and Technology.

Arlo is a passionate community builder, researcher, project manager, and environmental educator. He spent years working in remote forests across British Columbia developing sustainable land and resource management plans. Arlo shifted into educator and researcher roles while completing his Master of Science in forest ecology. For the last couple years, he has been involved in research and project management in the non-profit sector. This position with KAST delivers an exciting combination of challenges to engage his varied expertise and interests.

During their off-time, Arlo can be found in the backcountry climbing, hiking, camping, and skiing. At lower elevations, they keep busy photographing nature, propagating rare tropical plants, teaching their dog English, tending to their food garden, and connecting with their Nelson community through music, theatre, choir, and dance.
