Coordinator - East Kootenay
Marie is a divergent thinker who is eager to support the next generation of innovators and entrepreneurs through KAST’s youth and young adult programs in partnership with the YXC Makerspace.
From a young age, Marie has always had a big appetite for learning. This led her to complete two Master of Science degrees – one in psychiatric research and the other in Occupational Therapy. During her undergraduate degree in Psychology, Marie had an inventive idea and during summer and winter breaks, would meet with a high school classmate who was studying Computer Science to work on their prototype. Their prototype was never completed but this began her interest in patents. In her Coordinator role at the YXC Makerspace, Marie hopes to create an environment where inventors of all ages can bring their ideas to fruition through collaboration. Marie enjoys networking and bringing people together, and looks forward to hosting tech meetups in Cranbrook, BC through KAST.
Marie values work-life balance and moved to Cranbrook in 2021 for the disc golf community and courses. She and her partner enjoy traveling for disc golf tournaments in the spring and summer, disc dyeing with their friends and playing glow disc golf and the disc golf valley app in the winter.
