Director
Chris has called Rossland home for more than 25 years, building both his career and community after graduating as a Chemical Engineer from the University of British Columbia. He joined Cominco (now Teck Metals) as an Engineer in Training and has since held progressive roles in process engineering, research, metallurgy and technology, business development, and operations management. Today, Chris serves as Manager of Health, Safety and Risk at Trail Operations, where he leads initiatives focused on protecting people and supporting safe, reliable industrial operations.
Chris brings a strong commitment to advancing science and technology in the region. He is passionate about strengthening the local STEM ecosystem, inspiring youth, and helping build the skills needed for the future workforce. Chris is particularly interested in supporting initiatives that increase access to science and technology opportunities and encourage greater diversity and inclusion in STEM fields. A long-time community volunteer, Chris has coached youth soccer, supported the Rossland Winter Carnival, served as past Chair of the Rossland Library Board of Trustees, and also serves on the Board of the Greater Trail Hospice Society. He believes strong communities are built by supporting education, innovation, and opportunities for the next generation.
Chris and his wife Kelly enjoy the outdoors in all seasons and are proud parents of two daughters pursuing their own paths in STEM.
