Chris has lived and played in Rossland for over 25 years since graduating as a Chemical Engineer from UBC. He joined Cominco (now Teck Metals) as an Engineer in Training and has progressed through various roles in process engineering, research, metallurgy and technology, business development, and operations management. Chris is currently the Manager of Health and Safety and Risk at the Trail Operations leading the site in the development and application of occupational health and safety policies, emergency response procedures and risk management. He is also the Management representative on Trail Ops Inclusion and Diversity Committee.

Chris is an active volunteer in our Kootenay communities including soccer coaching, Rossland Winter Carnival and is past Chair of the Rossland Library Board of Trustees, where he initiated the successful library renewal project. He is passionate about supporting the growth of our communities through science and technology and especially in the promotion of diversity in science and technology.

Chris and his wife Kelly love the outdoors and are proud parents of two daughters at university with aspiring careers in STEM.
