Several volunteer groups in the Kootenay's participated in a program called Communities Pulling Together hosted by the Central Kootenay Invasive Plant Committee. The groups spent a few hours pulling invasive plants in their communities at high priority sites that are threatening wetland habitat or are isolated stands of a yet-to-be widely distributed invasive plant species.
