KAST is a highly entrepreneurial economic development non-profit serving the West Kootenay and Boundary regions for the past 20 years. We aim to solve problems for technology businesses, and work to foster a culture that values science, technology, innovation and entrepreneurship as vital to the region’s economic diversity/ competitiveness. KAST offers business development services, including coaching, expertise, training, and development projects to stimulate the growth of applied science and technology entrepreneurship.
KAST is looking for a creative and motivated individual with confidence, judgement, flexibility, a desire to learn, a love of language and a sense of humour to be our new Talent and Marketing Manager.
Main responsibilities until March 31, 2018 include startup and delivery of our new technology talent project in Nelson, Rossland, Revelstoke and Kimberley BC in concert with regional partners. Starting April 2018, the role may also include client intake and management for our business coaching programs for technology startups and growth companies. The successful candiate will serve as human resources recruiter to technology companies in the region, provide and/or oversee related marketing services, provide a strategy for community-sensitive attraction of digital nomads, and support technology community and culture building in our pilot communities.
You will need to be outgoing, partnership-but-also-results oriented (enjoy!), willing to travel, and provide a high and customized level of service while remaining professional and discreet. You will have preferably completed post-secondary education and will have a minimum of 5 years combined human resources and/or marketing experience. You will have demonstrated time management and organizational skills, a flair for language, and adore both detail and brilliant but unusual people.
You wil be working in the KAST office in Rossland, BC, with frequent travel throughout the Kootenay and Boundary regions.
Starting wage of $25/h for 30 hours/week.
