Jason Taylor, Selkirk College Applied Research

Jason Taylor is the Chair of Selkirk College's School of the Arts and has recently been appointed to conduct applied research in Digital Fabrication and Rapid Prototyping. Jason Taylor has specialized in digital fabrication and rapid prototyping for the past 5 years with extensive research and application in additive and subtractive manufacturing, rapid prototyping and motion control systems. Jason has over 16 years of teaching, managing and program development at Selkirk and continues to push his faculty, students and peers in new and challenging directions.


Jodi Silva, CPA, CA- Yule Anderson

Jodi Silva obtained her CA designation in 2007 and has been employed in public practice for 10 years.  As an assurance manager at KPMG in Vancouver, Jodi was a member of a subgroup of partners and managers that specialized in the audits and reviews of small to mid-sized private and not-for-profit enterprises. In 2010 Jodi joined the Grant Thornton (formerly Yule Anderson) team and is now a leader at the practice in the implementation of professional standards. Jodi has extensive experience with assisting start-up corporations through the initial development and growth phases. Jodi enjoys working with small businesses providing accounting, tax and business advice to help them grow and succeed.

As Austin Engineering’s owner and principal engineer, Roger has over 15 years of experience managing multi-million dollar projects, with extensive experience in earthworks, bridges, dams, foundations, structures, building envelopes, architectural finishing, process facilities, utilities, large scale mining operations, provincial and federal government projects and environmental reclamation. At Austin Engineering, he leads a team of engineers and industry specialists on civil and structural designs, planning, project management and technical reviews, specializing in hydro projects, mining and water resources projects. His extensive experience enables him to lead the design process and provide a valuable solution that meets budgets and timelines.

Blaise Enright

Blaise has 25 + years experience working in Human Resources (HR) in Toronto, Winnipeg and Vancouver and, since moving to the Kootenays ten years ago, has been providing HR consulting services to a wide variety of organizations. Dr. Beatson is a Rossland-based professionally trained consultant, leader and coach who delivers high impact results with passion, insight and experience. Leon Pigott, Pigott & Co.

Leon has been a corporate and commercial lawyer for 15 years. He started his practice at Macleod Dixon, an international law firm based in Calgary. Leon practiced in the areas of banking, securities, energy and corporate and commercial transactions. In 2002, he obtained an MBA from the London Business School. In 2004, after a brief time spent with Davis & Company, a large Vancouver law firm, Leon joined Powerex Corp., the power marketing arm of BC Hydro. Leon worked at Powerex Corp. for four years and was the head of the company’s commercial law group. Leon moved to Nelson with his family in 2007 and returned to private practice with a focus on corporate, commercial and finance law including incorporations, corporate and financial structuring, and intellectual property. Cindy Chambers, MBA

Cindy is an enthusiastic and pragmatic marketing professional with expertise in product commercialization, strategic marketing, small enterprise marketing, sales and business development and training development and delivery. She has worked in both private industry and in consulting roles, and is a strong advocate for the customer. This advocacy ensures that marketing strategies and tactics are customer centric and based on client needs, ensuring success for the organization. With clients and experience spanning industries as diverse as telecommunications, agriculture, technology, oil and gas, software and IT services, manufacturing, post-secondary education, real-estate and not-for-profit industries, Cindy’s wide knowledge base, coupled with her collaborative approach and an ability to rapidly understand an organization’s culture and challenges ensures that productivity as a consultant occurs very quickly. Cindy has a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Calgary, and has spent a good portion of her career leveraging technology to implement marketing plans. She has spent several years teaching business and marketing classes at the post-secondary level (Mount Royal University, University of Phoenix, SAIT), as well as providing marketing and strategic business consulting services across numerous industries.
